An Etihad Airbus A330-200, registration A6-EYL performing flight EY-279 from Male (Maldives) to Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) with 189 people on board, was climbing out of Male when the crew stopped the climb at about FL250 and decided to return to Male due to a hydraulic leak. The aircraft landed safely back in Male about 75 minutes after departure.

The passengers were rebooked onto the next day's flight and reached Abu Dhabi with a delay of 24 hours.

The occurrence aircraft was able to depart Male on Nov 25th about 33 hours after landing and returned to Abu Dhabi as flight EY-279A.
