A KLM Boeing 747-400, registration PH-BFD performing flight KL-895 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Shanghai Pudong (China), was climbing through FL250 out of Amsterdam's runway 24 when the crew stopped the climb reporting problems with engine #3 (inboard right hand, CF6). The aircraft dumped fuel and returned to Amsterdam for a safe landing on runway 27 about 90 minutes after departure. The aircraft taxied to the apron following an inspection by emergency services.

A replacement Boeing 747-400 registration PH-BFO is estimated to reach Shanghai with a delay of 4 hours.
