A Ryanair Boeing 737-800, registration EI-EFA performing flight FR-7973 from London Stansted,EN (UK) to Basle/Mulhouse (Switzerland/France), landed on Basel's runway 15 but burst a main tyre upon touchdown. The aircraft rolled out without further incident and taxied to the apron.

The aircraft was unable to continue its schedule and remained on the ground in Basel for 21.5 hours before resuming service.

The return flight FR-7974 was cancelled.
