An Anadolujet Boeing 737-800 on behalf of THY Turkish Airlines, registration TC-SAI performing flight TK-7069 from Trabzon to Ankara (Turkey), was climbing out of Trabzon when the aircraft encountered multiple jolts. The crew subsequently decided to return to Trabzon for a safe landing about 20 minutes after departure.

The flight was cancelled, the passengers rebooked onto other flights.

Passengers reported the aircraft experienced jolts similiar to severe turbulence but no bangs while climbing out, fellow passengers at the windows claiming they saw streaks of flames from an engine. Shortly after the crew announced they had a technical malfunction and needed to return to Trabzon followed by a safe landing in Trabzon.

The incident aircraft resumed service on Jun 16th.
