A Cebu Pacific Airbus A319-100, registration RP-C3194 performing flight 5J-771 from Manila to Pagadian (Philippines), was on approach tp Pagadian when the aircraft flew through a large flock of American sparrows ingesting a number of birds into an engine (CFM56). The aircraft continued for a safe landing.

The aircraft was unable to perform the return flight 5J-772, a replacement Airbus A319-100 registration RP-C3195 reached Manila with a delay of 7 hours.

The occurrence aircraft was inspected in Pagadian and was able to resume service about 9 hours after landing.
