A TAM Linhas Aereas Airbus A320-200, registration PR-MHM performing flight JJ-3741 from Manaus,AM to Belem,PA (Brazil), was on final approach to Belem's runway 06 when the crew reported a bird strike and requested emergency services on stand by. The aircraft landed safely on runway 06 a few minutes later.

The aircraft was unable to continue the flight and is still on the ground in Belem about 7.5 hours after landing.
