An Air France Airbus A330-200, registration F-GZCF performing flight AF-444 from Paris Charles de Gaulle (France) to Rio de Janeiro Galeao,RJ (Brazil), was descending towards Rio de Janeiro when the crew reported a problem with one of their engines (CF6). The aircraft continued for a safe landing on Galeao's runway 15.

Infraero, Brazil's Airport Management, reported the aircraft performed an emergency landing due to a fault in one of the engines.

The airline confirmed a technical problem on approach, the aircraft landed normally and taxied to the gate on its own.

The aircraft was able to depart for the return flight AF-445 about 3:45 hours after landing with a delay of 80 minutes.
