A SCAT Airlines Antonov AN-24, flight DV-791 from Almaty to Urzhar (Kazakhstan) with 41 passengers and 3 crew, was accelerating for takeoff from Almaty when the aircraft rolled through a flock of bird and sustained a number of bird strikes prompting the crew to reject takeoff at high speed. The aircraft slowed safely and returned to the apron. There were no injuries, the aircraft sustained damage to the nose, windshield and right hand propeller.

A replacement aircraft reached Urzhar.
