An Asiana Airlines Boeing 747-400, registration HL-7428 from Seoul (South Korea) to Los Angeles,CA (USA) with 351 passengers, was enroute at FL350 almost overhead Sendai (Japan) when the crew descended the aircraft to FL150 and diverted to Tokyo's Haneda Airport (Japan) where the aircraft landed safely about one hour after leaving FL350.

A replacement Boeing 747-400 registration HL-7418 reached Los Angeles with a delay of 12 hours.

The airline reported the crew received an abnormal engine (CF6) indciation.
