An Expressjet Canadair CRJ-700 on behalf of Delta Airlines, registration N614QX performing flight EV-4916/DL-4916 from Westchester,NY to Atlanta,GA (USA) with 58 passengers, was climbing out of Westchester when the crew stopped the climb at FL240, declared emergency reporting problems with an engine (CF34) and diverted to Washington Dulles Airport,DC (USA). On arrival to Washington the crew reported they had both engines still running, the emergency had been declared more as a precaution. The aircraft landed safely on Dulles' runway 19L, vacated the runway and stopped on the adjacent taxiway on request by emergency services to permit them taking a look at the aircraft, the crew indicated that everything was normal again.

The remainder of the flight was cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto other flights.
