A First Air Boeing 737-200, registration C-GNDE performing flight 7F-955 from Rankin Inlet,NU to Iqaluit,NU (Canada) with 23 people on board, was enroute at FL330 over Canada on an easterly heading when the crew of another flight radioed 7F-955 telling them, ATC was trying to reach them. The crew therefore contacted ATC, it was determined that they were 225nm northwest of Iqaluit seriously off course. The aircraft turned south and landed safely in Iqaluit about 35 minutes later.

The Canadian TSB reported the airline is investigating to determine why the aircraft went off course.

Iqaluit is located about 635nm eastnortheast of Rankin Inlet.
