Maintenance replaced the navigation system and the aircraft departed again about 2 hours after landing, however needed to stop the climb again at 5000 feet reporting the same problem and returned to Luqa a second time about 20 minutes after second departure.
A replacement Airbus A319-100 registration 9H-AEL reached Milan with a delay of 5.5 hours.
