An Bulgaria Air Embraer ERJ-190, registration LZ-VAR performing flight FB-461 from Sofia (Bulgaria) to Amsterdam (Netherlands), was climbing out of Sofia's runway 27 when the crew reported a minor technical problem and requested to level off at 5000 feet to consult with dispatch. The crew subsequently advised they had a nose gear steering problem, needed to return to Sofia and might not be able to vacate the runway. The aircraft climbed to FL140 to burn off fuel, landed safely on Sofia's runway 27 about 90 minutes after departure and taxied to the apron.

A replacement Airbus A320-200 registration LZ-BHF reached Amsterdam with a delay of 5 hours.
