An Alitalia Cityliner Embraer ERJ-190, registration EI-RNE performing flight AZ-212 from Rome Fiumicino (Italy) to London City,EN (UK), was enroute at FL380 about 15nm north of Geneva (Switzerland) when the crew reported problems with the flaps, descended the aircraft to FL290 and diverted to Milan Malpensa for a safe landing at what appeared to be a normal speed.

A replacement Embraer ERJ-190 registration EI-RNC reached London's City Airport with a delay of 4 hours.
