A Skywest Canadair CRJ-900 on behalf of Delta Airlines, registration N549CA performing flight OO-4803/DL-4803 from Reno,NV to Salt Lake City,UT (USA) with 51 people on board, was climbing out of Reno when the crew requested to stop the climb at 12000 feet, declared emergency reporting an engine problem and stating they wanted to enter a hold to work the appropriate checklists, do the appropriate communications and then return to Reno. The aircraft returned to Reno for a safe landing on runway 16R about 30 minutes after departure.

The flight was cancelled.
