A Khors Air McDonnell Douglas MD-83 on behalf of ATA Airlines, registration UR-CJC performing flight I3-5249 from Tabriz to Tehran Mehrabad (Iran), was in the climb about 3 minutes into the flight when the crew received an oil filter clogged message for the right hand engine and decided to return to Tabriz for a safe landing.

Ukraine's Ministry of Transport reported in their monthly bulletin the investigation determined the oil filter pressure switch was defective.

The investigation found the right hand engine's oil filter clogged indication had already occurred on Mar 30th and had been logged by the crew, the contracted Swedish maintenance crew had subsequently cleaned the connectors of the oil filter differential pressure switch, put the replacement of the switch onto the deferred defect list permitting a delay of up to 72 hours for the replacement of the switch and released the aircraft to service under minimum equipment list requirements. Although the switch thus was to be replaced by April 1st at the latest, the aircraft continued to fly until the switch malfunctioned again on Apr 2nd, only then the switch was replaced.
