Brazil's CENIPA released their final report in Portugese concluding the probable cause of the accident was:

The aft pivot pin of the left main gear fractured as result of fatigue, the initiation of which is being attributed to a milling process conducted in an inappropriate section of the pin.

Contributing factors were:

The lack of an effective supervision system at the operator as well as contractors and subcontractors, which allowed latent maintenance errors were not detected and corrected.

Supervision of the operator by the Civil Aviation Authority was insufficient to mitigate the latent deficiencies in the maintenance organisation.

The aircraft had smoothly landed and had already slowed to about 70 knots in a gradual deceleration employing only ground idle. Following the call out "70 knots" a loud noise was heard followed by the collapse of the left main gear and associated yaw to the left side. The aircraft departed paved surface and came to a stop aside of the runway. One passenger received minor injuries - the report does not explain when and how the injury occurred.

The aircraft received substantial damage to the landing gear, hydraulic system, left hand propeller and engine and minor damage to left hand side of fuselage and left hand wing.
