A Jetstar Airbus A320-200, registration VH-VGT performing flight JQ-262 from Wellington to Auckland (New Zealand) with 158 people on board, was climbing out of Wellington's runway 34 when the crew stopped the climb at 5000 feet reporting the cabin did not pressurize. The aircraft returned to Wellington for a safe landing on runway 34 about 30 minutes after departure.

The aircraft was able to depart again after 6 hours on the ground and reached Auckland with a delay of 6.5 hours.

The airline confirmed the aircraft returned to Wellington due to the cabin not pressurizing.
