An Air Canada Airbus A320-200, registration C-FDRH performing flight AC-125 from Toronto,ON to Calgary,AB (Canada) with 154 people on board, stopped the climb out of Toronto at 8000 feet due to the failure of the right hand generator (engine CFM56), declared PAN and returned to Toronto for a safe landing on runway 23 about 30 minutes later.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance replaced the integrated drive generator, generator control unit and the #1 bus tie contactor.

A replacement A320-200 reached Calgary with a delay of 2:40 hours.
