An Allegiant McDonnell Douglas MD-83, registration N426NV performing flight G4-1014 from Idaho Falls,ID to Oakland,CA (USA) with 117 passengers, was enroute at FL240 about 80nm northeast of Reno,NV when the crew decided to divert to Reno reporting the cabin was incredibly hot causing passengers to suffer, they needed to get the people off the aircraft, only one air conditioning system was running, they wouldn't need ambulances but the passengers were at the edge and a paramedics at the gate was needed. The aircraft landed safely on Reno's runway 16R about 17 minutes later.

The incident aircraft was able to continue the journey after about 2:50 hours on the ground and reached Oakland with a delay of 3.5 hours.

The airport reported 5 passengers reported to not fell well but didn't need to be taken to hospital. They recovered after being provided with water and put in air conditioning.
