A Fiji Airways Boeing 737-700, registration DQ-FJF performing flight FJ-430 from Auckland (New Zealand) to Suva (Fiji) with 122 passengers and 6 crew, was climbing out of Auckland's runway 23L when the crew received a fire indication for the right hand engine (CFM56), stopped the climb at 4000 feet, shut the engine down and activated the fire suppression system. The aircraft returned to Auckland for a safe landing on runway 23L about 15 minutes after departure. Attending emergency services found no trace of an engine fire.

The flight was cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto the next flights.

The airline reported the aircraft returned to Auckland as a precaution due to an indication for the right hand engine, there was no engine fire at all. Further examinations of the engine are underway.

Auckland Emergency services said the crew reported an engine fire indication.
