A Skywest Canadair CRJ-100, registration N405SW performing flight OO-6202 from Denver,CO (USA) to Calgary,AB (Canada) with 40 people on board, was on a visual approach to Calgary's runway 16 when after extending the landing gear the crew received a gear disagree indication. The crew selected the gear up and down again, however both main gear indications remained unsafe and not locked down. The crew went around and worked the relevant checklists performing a manual gear extension after which all gear struts indicated down and locked. As a precaution the crew performed a low approach to have tower check the landing gear, tower reported the gear was down, and the aircraft landed safely.

The Canadian TSB reported that the flight attendant instructed passengers to assume brace position for landing. Following landing maintenance personnel replaced the main landing gear selector valve, after which numerous gear swings performed without anomaly.
