An Austrian Airlines Fokker 100, registration OE-LVN performing flight OS-689 from Vienna (Austria) to Minsk (Belarus), was enroute at FL330 about 150nm northeast of Vienna and 40nm south of Krakov (Poland) when the crew initiated an emergency descent squawking emergency due to the loss of cabin pressure. The aircraft reached FL100 about 5 minutes later (average rate of descent 4600 fpm), turned around and returned to Vienna, where the aircraft landed safely on runway 29 about one hour after leaving FL330.

The airline told Austrianwings that one of the front doors emitted whistling noises prompting the crew to descend to 10.000 feet and return to Vienna.
