A Jetblue Embraer ERJ-190, registration N355JB performing flight B6-1205 from Westchester County,NY to Fort Myers,FL (USA) with 73 people on board, departed Westchester's runway 16 when the crew upon being handed off to departure reported they had flown through a flock of birds just during rotation and had hit a number of them, they probably were going to divert to New York's JFK airport. The next aircraft landing on runway 16 reported seeing a bird before taxiway G. The incident aircraft climbed to 3000 feet and diverted to New York's John F. Kennedy Airport, just before commencing the approach the crew declared emergency and continued for a safe landing on runway 22R about 25 minutes after departure and taxied to the apron.

A replacement ERJ-190 registration N358JB reached Fort Myers with a delay of 110 minutes.

The incident aircraft was able to resume service 3 hours after landing.
