A TAM Linhas Aereas Airbus A330-200, registration PT-MVC performing flight JJ-8086 from Sao Paulo Guarulhos,SP (Brazil) to Orlando,FL (USA), diverted to Caracas (Venezuela) for a safe landing.

A replacement Airbus A330-200 registration PT-MVT reached Orlando as flight JJ-9374 the following day with a delay of 18 hours.

The incident became known only after PT-MVC departed Caracas for a ferry flight to Sao Paulo on May 25th but needed to divert again for a safe landing at Curacao (Curacao) due to a problem with the left hand engine (PW4168A). A replacement engine was flown to Curacao, the left hand engine was replaced. The aircraft subsequently positioned to Sao Paulo as flight JJ-9394 on May 27th, conducted a test flight JJ-9395 on May 28th, but was not seen airborne since (standing May 30th 16:30Z).
