An Air Berlin Airbus A320-200, registration D-ABDW performing flight AB-8353 from Moscow Domodedovo (Russia) to Berlin Tegel (Germany), was climbing out of Domodedovo's runway 14R when after selecting the gear up one of the gear doors did not close. The crew levelled off at 5000 feet, worked the checklists and returned to Domodedovo for a safe landing on runway 14L about 20 minutes after departure.

The aircraft was able to depart again after about 3 hours on the ground and reached Berlin with a delay of 3.5 hours.
