A passenger reported that during the climb the gear was retracted and extended a number of times, both main gear legs audibly retracted, some time later the crew however reported that the nose gear could not be retracted and they were returning to Dusseldorf. The aircraft landed normally back to Dusseldorf, no emergency services were on stand by, and taxied to a remote stand. The crew suspected that perhaps the gear pin had been forgotten, however, after a brief inspection the crew announced that a more complex fault had occurred, the passengers disembarked and were taken to the terminal by bus. The flight was cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto other flights.
The airline reported the crew received indication that the nose gear had not retracted and decided to return to Dusseldorf. The passengers were rebooked. A maintenance team has been dispatched to Dusseldorf.
