A Mesa Airlines Canadair CRJ-900 on behalf of US Airways, registration N919FJ performing flight YV-2658/US-2658 from Myrtle Beach,SC to Charlotte,NC (USA) with 79 people on board, landed on Charlotte's runway 23 and slowed safely. While attempting to turn off the runway onto taxiway M2 about 1500 meters/5000 feet down the runway, the crew reported they had a steering failure, the nose wheels had run off the runway surface and stopped on soft ground.

A replacement CRJ-900 registration N920FJ continued the next sector of the flight to Syracuse,NY (USA).
