An Air Do Boeing 737-500, registration JA8504 performing flight HD-97 from Tokyo Haneda to Kushiro (Japan) with 38 people on board, was on approach to Kushiro about 5 minutes prior to estimated landing when the crew reported the left hand engine (CFM56) had been shut down. The aircraft continued for a safe landing about 10 minutes later.

The airline reported the crew noticed the left hand fuel gauges showed a substantially higher fuel flow than the right hand engine raising the suspicion of a fuel leak. The airline later reported that a wiring fault was discovered as cause of the false fuel indication, there was no fuel leak.
