A JAC Japan Air Commuter Avions de Transport Regional ATR-72-212A, registration JA02JC performing flight JC-3745 from Kagoshima to Yakushima (Japan) with 46 people on board, was climbing out of Kagoshima's runway 34 when the crew stopped the climb at about 5000 feet due to an unusual wind noise from the left hand cockpit side window. The aircraft returned to Kagoshima for a safe landing on runway 34 about 25 minutes after departure.

The airline reported a some sort of malfunction of the left hand cockpit side window, which is being investigated.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Kagoshima about 13 hours after landing back.
