An Easyjet Airbus A319-100, registration G-EZFV performing flight U2-6407 from Newcastle,EN (UK) to Malaga,SP (Spain), was enroute at FL390 about 50nm southwest of Bristol,EN (UK) when the crew donned their oxygen masks, declared emergency and diverted to Bristol for a safe landing on runway 09 about 23 minutes later.

A replacement Airbus A319-100 registration G-EZIZ reached Malaga with a delay of 4:45 hours.

A passenger reported there had been fire on board.

A listener on frequency reported the crew was on oxygen masks during their approach to Bristol.

The airline confirmed a minor technical problem prompting the diversion to Bristol, maintenance found the aircraft not serviceable, so that another aircraft resumed the flight.
