A Thai AirAsia Airbus A320-200, registration HS-BBA performing flight FD-552 from Bangkok Don Muang (Thailand) to Chongqing (China) with 147 people on board, suffered a hail strike on approach to Chongqing. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on Chongqing's runway 20R. The aircraft suffered a cracked left windshield and a dent in the radome.

The aircraft returned to service about 28 hours after landing.
