An Augsburg Airways de Havilland Dash 8-400 on behalf of Lufthansa, registration D-ADHR performing flight LH-2164 from Munich to Leipzig (Germany), stopped the climb out of Munich at 5000 feet and entered a holding to troubleshoot, when the right hand main gear doors did not close after the gear retracted. The aircraft landed safely back in Munich about 30 minuts after departure.

A passenger reported that a door of the right hand main gear did not close after the gear retracted, the aircraft levelled off at 5000 feet. The gear was extended again, the crew announced this had been a manual gear extension. The right hand main tyres appeared wet immediately after the extension.

A replacement Dash 8-400 registration D-ADHB reached Leipzig with a delay of 2 hours.
