An Air Canada Rouge Airbus A319-100, registration C-GBHZ performing flight RV-1878 from Toronto,ON (Canada) to Saint Lucia (Saint Lucia) with 115 people on board, was climbing through FL250 when the crew observed intermittent faults on the primary and navigation flight displays as well as VHF radios, the aircraft entered uncommanded yaw and roll movements with transient ECAM messages. The crew disconnected the autopilot and decided to return to Toronto, while mild yaw and roll oscillations continued until descending through 17000 feet. The crew received a FAC 1 ECAM indication, worked the related checklist and declared PAN PAN. As the uncommanded yaw and roll had ceased the autopilot was re-engaged and the aircraft landed back in Toronto without further incident.

The aircraft returned to service about 11 hours after landing.

On May 2nd 2025 the Canadian TSB reported that maintenance found the IDG#1 defective. The IDG was replaced.
