A Sita Air Dornier Do-228, registration 9N-AIE performing flight ST-916 from Lukla to Ramechhap (Nepal) with 17 people on board, was enroute at about 12000 feet about 50nm southeast of Kathmandu (Nepal) when the crew decided to divert to Kathmandu due to a hydraulic failure. The aircraft landed safely on Kathmandu's runway 02 and was towed to the apron.

The aircraft returned to service about 20 hours after landing.
