A Jet2.com Boeing 737-800, registration G-GDFP performing flight LS-138 from Fuerteventura,CI (Spain) to Glasgow,SC (UK) with 170 passengers and 6 crew, was enroute at FL370 about 80nm northwest of Santiago de Compostela,SP (Spain) when the crew decided to divert to Santiago reporting smoke in the cabin. The aircraft landed safely on Santiago de Compostela's runway 35 about 20 minutes later. Emergency services escorted the aircraft to the apron.

The aircraft remained on the ground in Santiago for about 20 hours, then positioned to Manchester,EN (UK) and is still on the ground in Manchester about 28 hours after landing in Manchester.
