A Sun Express Boeing 737-800, registration TC-SUU performing flight XQ-662 from Antalya (Turkey) to Berlin (Germany) with 202 people on board, was enroute at FL360 about to cross the border from Romania to Hungary about 130nm east of Budapest (Hungary) when the crew decided to divert to Budapest reporting smoke in the cabin. The aircraft landed safely on Budapest's runway 13L about 30 minutes later and stopped on the runway. Attending emergency services found no damage to the outside of the aircraft.

According to information The Aviation Herald received an oven in the aft galley had suffered a short.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration TC-SOE reached Berlin with a delay of about 10:45 hours.

The occurrence aircraft returned to service about 16 hours after landing.
