An Air Wisconsin Canadair CRJ-200 on behalf of American Airlines, registration N465AW performing flight AA-6015 from Chicago O'Hare,IL to Grand Rapids,MI (USA), was on approach to Grand Rapids' runway 17 when the crew requested to level at 4000 feet and requested delay vectors. The crew subsequently reported a flaps problem and set up for an approach to Grand Rapid's runway 08R, where the aircraft landed safely at a higher than normal speed (about 175 knots over ground) about 20 minutes after the onset of trouble. The aircraft vacated the runway and stopped on the adjacent taxiway for a brief check by emergency services before taxiing to the apron.

The FAA reported: "Air Wisconsin Flight 615A landed safely at Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids, Michigan, around 11:50 a.m. local time on Friday, May 24, after the crew reported a possible flap issue. The Bombardier CRJ-200 departed from Chicago O’Hare International Airport. The FAA will investigate."

The aircraft returned to service about 4.5 hours after landing.
