An Air Tahiti Avions de Transport Regional ATR-72-212A, registration F-ORVV performing flight VT-832 from Nuku Hiva to Papeete (French Polynesia) with 55 people on board, was enroute at FL160 about 110nm north of Fakarava (French Polynesia) when the right hand engine (PW127M) failed prompting the crew do descend the aircraft to FL070 and to divert to Fakarava where the aircraft landed safely on runway 05 about 40 minutes later at about 17:56L (03:56Z Oct 26th).

A replacement ATR-72-212A registration F-ORVU positioned from Papeete to Fakarava with maintenance and continued the flight to Papeete reaching the destination with a delay of about 6 hours.
