A Ryanair Boeing 737-800, registration EI-EVS performing flight FR-417 from Tenerife South,CI (Spain) to Newcastle,EN (UK), was on final approach to Newcastle's runway 25 when the crew initiated a go around from about 1000 feet AGL due to problems with the flaps. The aircraft climbed to 5000 feet maintaining less than 180 knots over ground, the crew worked the related checklists and positioned for another approach to runway 25. The aircraft landed safely on runway 25 at a slightly higher than normal speed (about 160 knots over ground) about 30 minutes after the go around.
