An Alrosa Mirny Enterprise Tupolev TU-134, registration RA-65693 performing flight 6R-551 from Novosibirsk to Polyarnyj (Russia) with 57 passengers and 3 crew, was climbing out of Novosibirsk when a gradual increase of the exhaust gas temperature of the #2 engine (D30, right hand), the engine was initially throttled back to keep the temperature within limits, the EGT however rose above limits prompting the crew to shut the engine down. The aircraft returned to Novosibirsk for a safe landing about 15 minutes after departure.
