A TAP Air Portugal Airbus A320-200, registration CS-TNQ performing flight TP-538 from Lisbon (Portugal) to Berlin (Germany), was enroute at FL380 about 20nm west of Paris Orly Airport (France) when the crew decided to divert to Paris Orly due to the smell of smoke on board. The aircraft landed safely on Orly's runway 25 about 18 minutes later.

The airline reported the aircraft diverted due to a technical problem, the aircraft landed in complete safety, the passengers will be taken to Berlin as soon as possible.

A passenger reported there had been the smell of smoke developing in the business class area, however, there had been no information provided so far.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Paris about 7.5 hours after landing.
