A Jetblue Airbus A320-200, registration N659JB performing flight B6-1695 from Orlando,FL (USA) to San Jose (Costa Rica), was enroute at FL350 over the Florida Keys about 100nm southwest of Fort Lauderdale,FL when the aircraft ran out of potable water prompting the crew to turn around and divert to Fort Lauderdale. The aircraft burned off fuel and landed safely on runway 09L about 80 minutes later.

The aircraft departed again after the aircraft had received water and waste service and reached San Jose with a delay of 4 hours.

The aircraft had been dispatched under minimum equipment list requirements with the indicators for water and waste levels inoperative.
