An Emirates Airbus A380-800, registration A6-EUN performing flight EK-9 from Dubai (United Arab Emirates) to London Gatwick,EN (UK), was on approach to Gatwick's runway 26L when the crew initiated a go around reporting a hydraulic failure. The aircraft climbed back to 4000 feet, positioned for another approach and landed safely on runway 26L about 23 minutes after the go around. The aircraft was unable to vacate the runway and was towed off the runway.

The airport reported the main runway was closed for a short time this evening after an Emirates A380 made an emergency landing.
