A United Boeing 757-200, registration N14102 performing flight UA-17 from Glasgow,SC (UK) to Newark,NJ (USA), was enroute at FL380 about 150nm south of St. John's,NL (Canada) when the crew received indication of loss of hydraulic pressure in the center hydraulic system. The crew shut the center hydraulic pumps down and continued to Newark for a safe landing about 2.5 hours later.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance identified a leak in the rudder power control unit causing the loss of pressure. The power control unit was replaced.
