A Jetblue Airbus A320-200, registration N705JB performing flight B6-236 from Santiago (Dominican Republic) to New York JFK,NY (USA), was climbing out of Santiago when the crew stopped the climb at 10,000 feet reporting the overheating of one of the engines (V2527). The aircraft diverted to Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) for a safe landing about 20 minutes after departure.

A replacement A320-200 registration N566JB reached New York with a delay of 9.5 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Santo Domingo about 23 hours after landing.
