The aircraft entered a hold while the crew was working the checklists. The crew finally declared emergency advising they had a "flap emergency" and continued for a safe landing on runway 25 about 40 minutes after the missed approach.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 9.5 hours, then resumed service.
