A United Airbus A319-100, registration N876UA performing flight UA-2624 from New York La Guardia,NY to Denver,CO (USA), was accelerating for takeoff from La Guardia's runway 13 when the crew rejected takeoff at low speed (about 80 knots over ground) due to a problem with the left hand engine (V2524). The aircraft slowed safely and returned to the apron.

A passenger reported there was a slight bang followed by immediate braking. The flight was delayed by about 15 hours, then cancelled.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground in New York for about 24 hours before returning to service.
