A Myanmar National Airlines Avions de Transport Regional ATR-72-212A, registration XY-AML performing flight UB-149 from Naypyidaw to Loikaw (Myanmar) with 63 people on board, was on final approach to Loikaw's runway 19 descending through about 600 feet AGL about 1.8nm before the threshold of the runway, when the aircraft was being shot at and received 3 hits, one of the hits also injuring a boy on board of the aircraft. The aircraft continued for a landing without further incident. The boy, who was hit in his cheek, was taken to a hospital.

Myanmar's Military Council reported the aircraft was descending through about 3500 feet MSL about 4km before the runway when the aircraft was shot at by rebels/terrorists and received three hits, a boy was injured and taken to a hospital.
