An Air Urga Antonov AN-26 on behalf of United Nations, registration UR-ELI performing flight UNO-808 from Kisangani (DR Congo) to Entebbe (Uganda), had just levelled off at FL190 when the crew observed reducing oil pressure and engine speed indications for the left hand engine (AI24VT) as well as chip detector indication. The crew shut the left hand engine down and returned to Kisangani for a safe landing.

Ukraine's Ministry of Transport reported in their monthly bulletin that the investigation identified three teeth of the central drive gear in the upper gearbox had separated as result of fatigue caused by cyclic stress resulting in further destruction of the gear.
